Building Literacy, One Family at a Time

This month, Reading With Mrs. Richardson was honored to partner with Sweet Cheeks Diaper Ministry to bring the joy of reading into the homes of families across Memphis. Together, we provided more than 300 brand-new diverse books to children and families during their diaper distribution event.

Each family not only received a book to encourage a love of reading at home but also a special teddy bear thanks to the Build-A-Bear Foundation. These cuddly companions remind children that reading time can also be a time of comfort, connection, and imagination.

We are deeply grateful to the students and volunteers from St. Mary’s School who helped us make the day a success. Their energy and commitment showed the families we served that the community is invested in their children’s future.

This partnership was made possible through a grant from St.. Mary's School. The grant allows us to expand our mission of ensuring every child has access to stories that reflect and celebrate their experiences.

Moments like these are more than giveaways; they are investments in literacy, equity, and hope. By placing books into the hands of children, we are planting seeds for stronger readers, lifelong learners, and brighter futures.
