Reading With Mrs. Richardson offers personalized literacy and ELA tutoring designed for students in grades 5–8 who need additional support, enrichment, or simply a confidence boost.
Led by a licensed and certified 6–12 ELA educator with a background in education and journalism, each session is tailored to the individual student. This isn't just homework help. Students receive intentional instruction based on their strengths, needs, and academic goals.
Support may include reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, grammar and language, text evidence, critical thinking, and academic confidence. Lessons also incorporate culturally relevant literature, history, and stories that help students make meaningful connections to what they're learning.

For local students, learning doesn't have to stop at the classroom door.
Memphis Made Literacy Experiences turn our city into a classroom by connecting reading and writing with Memphis history, culture, music, people, and places.
Students may read about an important person, event, or piece of Memphis history, discuss what they've learned, complete writing and reflection activities, and then experience that history firsthand through visits to local cultural and historic sites.
These experiences are designed to help students understand that the stories they're reading aren't distant history — they happened right here in Memphis.
