Celebrating Success: Reading With Mrs. Richardson's 2023 Impact Report
At Reading With Mrs. Richardson, we believe in the transformative power of literacy and storytelling. As we reflect on the past year, we are thrilled to share the impact we've had on the students we serve in the Raleigh community.
Empowering Students Through Literature In 2023, our programs reached over 300 students, providing them with access to diverse and culturally relevant literature. Through initiatives like Operation Read Memphis, we distributed books written by Black and Brown authors, helping students see themselves reflected in the stories they read.
Fostering Critical Thinking and Research Skills Our EnRICH Academy curriculum, aligned with Tennessee standards, challenged students to think critically about the world around them. By focusing on often untold stories, we encouraged students to engage with complex issues and develop their research skills.
Promoting Social and Emotional Learning We know that literacy goes beyond reading words on a page. That's why we integrated social and emotional learning into our programs. Through discussions, activities, and creative projects, students learned to navigate their emotions and build positive relationships with others.
Measuring Our Impact To measure our success, we tracked various metrics, including academic performance, attendance, and student engagement. We also solicited feedback from students, parents, and teachers to ensure that our programs were meeting the needs of our community.
